Pelican Intl Inc. Launches with Acquisition of Pelican International and Confluence Outdoor Assets
Strategic move signals a new chapter in paddlesports innovation and growth
Laval, QC â May 12, 2025 â A new era begins for the paddlesports industry as Pelican Intl Inc., a newly formed entity, announces the successful acquisition of the assets (excluding GSI Outdoors) of Pelican International Inc. and Confluence Outdoor Inc. The acquisition was completed through a court-approved Sale and Investment Solicitation Process (SISP) under the Companiesâ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) in Canada and Chapter 15 in the United States.
The transaction was led by former Pelican President and CEO Danick Lavoie, alongside former executives Frédéric Guay and Guy Prenevost, with the backing of a group of seasoned investors including Vincent Chiara (Mach Capital), Marc Varadi (RIMAP Hospitality), Luc Sabbatini (Ganesh Capital), and Charles Malo, who will continue as a board member and investor.
This partnership positions Pelican Intl Inc. for renewed growth, innovation, and resilience, preserving the legacy of some of the most trusted brands in paddlesports while retaining a workforce of over 400 dedicated employees across North America.
Unified Operations & Brand Vision
As part of its strategic integration, Confluence Outdoor Inc. will now operate as Pelican Intl USA Inc. This move will streamline operations across North America and position www.confluenceoutdoor.com as the central hub for consumer-facing eCommerce, dealer relationships, and product access.
